OVERVIEW

The Yokohama Avid Ascend LX is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. Yokohama offers an 85,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.

The tire promotes great all weather traction. It combines the all season compound and the detailed asymmetric tread design to boost the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping capability. The high-density siping pattern along the ribbed tread design increases the number of biting edges gripping the road surface, while the compound’s rubber materials maintain their rubber flexibility in versatile temperatures. This combination enables the tire’s secure performance on ice- and snow-covered road surface conditions. The tread’s circumferential and lateral grooves disperse water and slush from below the footprint, enhancing the wet and winter traction and driving safety levels.

The tread design’s ribbed pattern upgrades the tire’s surface contact throughout its performance. The better road contact manages to boost the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In other words, the steering is faster and more accurate, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure affecting the model. The shoulder tread block placement, with the siping detail, increases the cornering and maneuvering capability and power. The detailed siping pattern creates friction between the tire and the road surface at the moment of braking, significantly shortening the model’s braking distance.
